I'm not sure about what does this mean, but, if you have any resist on your clothes you'll notice that there don't say anymore how many resist they bring, i saw in DS forum and i saw it on the game.. now your items will say (cold, fire, lightning) but the resist "percentage" will appear on your stats on the magic column

About the racial modificator.. maybe it means that if you saien and me brewed the same hmm ring for example.. it gave us the same resist for us, but now.. for example dex gives leves more fire resist than other race, so i understand that if you and me brew the same "ring" with the same resist runes, lets say fire, i'll get more resist than you... I'm not saying this is what the admin say.. this is just what I've understood
